GET/api/v1/regulatory/:id/label

Regulatory Approval Label

regulatory-approvalsNo success wrapper

Full current openFDA label for ONE FDA approval, keyed by the public approval_id (FDA_ORANGE:... / FDA_PURPLE:BLA...). Returns SPL metadata - setid, effective_time, brand_name, generic_name, manufacturer_name, product_type, route, dosage_form, active/inactive ingredients, marketing start/end dates - plus label_sections: an object keyed by section name (e.g. indications_and_usage, warnings, dosage_and_administration, adverse_reactions) whose values are the full section text (truncated per value in the agent trace). A 404 means either the approval id is unknown OR no openFDA label row exists for it (EMA approvals have no openFDA labels - that is a data gap, not an outage); a malformed id returns HTTP 400. Responses are implicit 2xx (no success flag). Prefer Regulatory Approvals Record for structure/flags; use this only when the user needs label TEXT.

When to use it

  • label section text (indications, warnings, dosing) for one FDA approval
  • openFDA SPL metadata (setid, effective_time, ingredients) for an approval

}

// No "success" flag on this endpoint - any 2xx JSON is a success.

Response shape

Single-object responseAPPROVALS

Empty results: No record found (HTTP 404) (unknown approval id OR no openFDA label row exists for it - both are HTTP 404)

Full current openFDA label for ONE FDA approval, keyed by the public approval_id (FDA_ORANGE:... / FDA_PURPLE:BLA125514 form). data carries SPL metadata (setid, effective_time, brand_name, generic_name, manufacturer_name, product_type, route, dosage_form, active/inactive ingredients, marketing start/end dates) plus label_sections - an object keyed by section name (indications_and_usage, warnings, dosage_and_administration, adverse_reactions, ...) with full section text; individual values are truncated by the trace formatter (~900 chars) - quote sections as excerpts. EMA approvals and any id without an openFDA label row return HTTP 404 'Full label not found for this approval' even when the approval record exists - report that as a label data gap, not an outage; malformed ids return HTTP 400.
